Employee Spotlight- Patrick Ryan Robinson Grill Chef
If you have not yet met Patrick Ryan, this is your chance to get to know him a little bit. Patrick Ryan, or as the kitchen has nicknamed him “R2”, has been with The GatewayClub since before we even opened. A Haywood County native, Patrick Ryan is a stickler for quality and cooking is one of his many artistic outlets. While he is primarily responsible for the meats, poultry and seafood on our menus, creating new dishes is one of his strongest contributions.Patrick Ryan has a flair for unusual combinations and use of local products. He maintains a very large garden producing many items that are integrated into the items at the Club. This year, he adds ornamentals, cut flowers and laying hens for fresh eggs to his farm. You will find him this season at themtailgate market with his produce, flowers and eggs. While Patrick Ryan has been cooking and gardening for many years, his other passion is filmmaking.Currently, he is completing the Film & Video Production curriculum at Haywood Community College. Eventually, he would like to produce wildlife documentaries and full feature comedic films. You might see his work later this Spring as he is presently in production for promotional videos for the local Visitor Information Channel and on the HCC website. It is our privilege to work with such a wonderful chef and talented artist. He is constantly in a creative mode and we are direct beneficiaries of his talent! Please take the time to meet Patrick Ryan on a future visit to the Club.
